I Muestra INTERNACIONAL DE ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO REALIZADO POR MUJERES
The exhibition “I Muestra Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo realizado por mujeres” opened on the 19th of February 2020, in the Instituto Aragonés de Arte Contemporáneo Pablo Serrano, in Zaragoza, Spain. I participated in the exhibition with my painting “ Meltdown” which shows the Franz Josef Glacier as it flows slowly downwards, taking on as it does a female form. For the Maori this glacier does represent a women whose name is Hine Hukatere. My interest in drawing attention to the female aspect of the glacier ties in with my interest in identifying and linking us up with the land. I am concerned about climatic change and hope to draw attention to the growing problem through my painting.
