In March 2021, I participated in the group show “S.A.de Prójimos”, in Caja Rural de Aragón, Zaragoza, Spain. This exhibition was curated by M. Carmen Gascón B. and organized as an encounter between Visual Artists and Scientists. The work I exhibited is part of a project I am involved in between Artists and Scientists in NZ, called Art Earth. I presented 4 of the 5 paintings I have created combining video and painting. The paintings show visions of the planet as seen from the shore of the New Zealand East Coast of the South Island. Using videos sent to me by Simon Cox (Geologist, GNS Science, Dunedin, NZ), which he created while walking along Warrington Beach and narrated his vision of the planet Earth, I built up layer upon layer of images, overlapping much in the way the land does as it shifts and moves in time.
